Pros and Cons of Immigrants Reform

Immigration has been one of the most powerful forces shaping the cultural, economic, and political development of the United States since the first immigrants arrived in this country. Some media had negatively expressed a lot of information by social media and newspapers presenting this issue as the most significant matter today. On the other hand, all these negative things have a reason why there is immigration, and the more substantial number is in the United States. The reason is that with various situations that look around the world, such as political, socioeconomic, educational, and the ease of movement, they are raising immigrants in multiple countries. This type of situation makes it possible to find why many Latin American families seek better opportunities for life, for their family, culture, refugees, etc. But it is not possible to forget the positive side that promoting not only beneficial to their lives, but also at the same time the country by obtaining numerous job opportunities, the economic increase, and other more good causes. Considering all these mentioned before, many may see it positively or negatively. Still, we can not forget that we are talking about people who have a valid reason to obtain immigrants' title. This essay will present some of the pros and cons of immigration reform that can benefit the people, including children and families. (Pettinger, 2019).

Immigration results in an open global market. As the first advantage to mention is how immigration reform gives benefits to the country and the people. The first essential and most common aspect in society's worldwide perspective is "economics" (Biggar, 2021). Since we are little, we hear the need that other countries do not have economic help; one of these countries is where I am from. For this reason, including economic as the main character in this essay is advantageous for immigrants and the country. The economy gives new opportunities in careers and education to see its importance, which comes economic growth for youth and children. As part of a country with economic difficulties, not all countries provide a similar lifestyle as the United stated, so these people decide to move. According to family testimonies, the immigrants have benefits. The government takes advantage of their work; one example is that Americans don't want to be out in the hot sun picking fruits and vegetables and carrying them on their shoulders. But the immigrants make this kind of work, but not only are they getting real their dream, but the country also has benefits. Thus, economics plays an important role in the advantages because it represents the situation's main subject. If someone wants a better lifestyle, the economy is the one that corresponds to obtain what is desired, and their children receive a better life and education. It is so admirable to see how immigrants work without any complaint, with the desire in their hearts to have a better life that makes them work no matter what it is, doing everything for their families (PTE Academic, 2021).

In this essay, we must remember that when there are advantages, there are also disadvantages. The disadvantage of immigration reform is the lack of importance in the division of families. First, it is essential to recognize that immigrants are not only workers but also human beings with families. But part of their desire to move to another country is to help their families. According to the law, and respecting it, immigrants are deported and separated from their families even if they have some children; This practice creates social problems for children that can affect them for the rest of their lives. I remembered a story that was on the news about how the families were separated. That caught my attention to put as a part of the disadvantages that it may affect in the future. My mother always thought that family should come first after all money, lifestyle, and a better future, but when we talk about including family, moving from one country to another creates problematic development for children. As a future educator, if we receive this type of child with a background like the one presented above, it will be challenging to integrate him into the social environment. But on the other hand, some organizations are created to help this type of family problem in the country. Whether negative or positive, an immigrant's life is very risky; that is why more guidance should be given in schools to follow their dreams. They should put their family first before making a more complicated decision that can affect them in the future (Domonoske, 2018).

Many reasons exist to decide to immigrate into the country, but the one that makes a significant impact in this essay is the refugees. One of the countries that have been welcoming is the United Stated, which gives a safe place for refugees fleeing conflict and persecution. This is one of the benefits this country offers to others, as a land full of opportunities. Something to make in point is that refugees recognize the advantages of being part of a country that gives them backup and security. Some benefits that refugees are provided with various services upon arrival to help them adjust to life in the United States and to set them on a path to self-sufficiency. This is a great help to those who are fleeing countries due to wars and lack of security. It helps them financially and places them in places where they as people can feel useful even in a country that is not theirs. In other words, this description connects how people want to have a better lifestyle and better living compared to their own country. Unfortunately, refugees face several challenges when they resettle, lose contact with the family, leave their land, education, and all the means vital to them. If a family moves base on this situation, the adaptation is more complicated; sometimes, refugees must build a new life in a new country with a different language and do so with limited resources. This essay showed the different pros and cons of immigrants. Still, everything must be clear to know what kind of people we are dealing with when they have this difficult background, which as an educator makes me help and collaborate in what is in my hands (National Immigration Forum, 2018).

In summary, everyone living in the United States today who does not have Native American ancestry is descended from immigrants. So it is for good reason that the United States has often been called a "nation of immigrants." People move to the United States today for the same reasons as in the past: to work, seek safety, and refuge from war, violence, and natural disasters. Therefore, there are many pros and cons associated with the immigration process. But putting immigration as the primary point, we must see what can be helpful for different reasons as for economic, educational, and cultural benefits. These and many more reasons may appear as pros and cons; these people who recently moved to this county and are known as "dreamers" have made many positive changes. Whatever the outcome, they have brought many positive things to this country. People, customs, or even something as simple as a speech can differ from where they are originally from. (Open Society Foundation, 2019). But it doesn't make any difference, whether you're in this country, for education, refugees, the economy, and a better life; everything leads us to the same goal: to lead our lives with the best opportunities that this country has offered many for centuries and generations. Know I understand why people always end a pray by saying, God bless this land and its people.
